Remote viewing has been used since its inception to collect information about people at a distance, without their consent. These people were not usually aware (or supposed to be aware) that they were being viewed. They could be probed for their physical attributes, their thoughts, their emotional mindsets, their behaviors or activities, and so forth. Remote viewing has also been used to influence or control the minds of other participants. It can be used to harm or help people. Although I doubt either our military or the Soviet military were too concerned about healing their unwitting targets, more and more remote-viewing training programs today are incorporating healing into their teachings and practices due to the interests and needs of current students.
